Refocus work around prevention, intervention, and response
Intervene in homelessness by investing in non-profit social supports that have proven to be successful in reducing homelessness, like the parks relocation coordinator.
Shift bylaw work toward compassion, safety, and connecting services by reviewing current bylaw patrol policies, training and operations, and re-focus work around improving outcomes for vulnerable people.
Keep parks, streets, and public areas clean by doubling the investment in cleaning and public works maintenance.
Prevent homelessness and take action on gender and intimate partner violence by creating and implementing a dedicated communications plan to improve awareness and access to services.
Increase transparency and trust by working with VicPD and Council to fund body cameras for VicPD officers.
Create more shelter and housing spaces
Coordinate a regional approach to sheltering and increase access to more housing spaces by working with the CRD to create a regional plan for shelter and supportive housing.
Provide spaces for unhoused people to be during the day by creating day-use facilities.
Offer secure storage so unhoused residents don’t lose their belongings by piloting a city-supported storage program.
Reduce sheltering in parks and boulevards, and help people move into safer housing by expanding the parks relocation services.

Provide care to unsheltered and vulnerable residents experiencing medical distress by increasing support for community led crisis response teams.
Take a health-based approach to support people experiencing homeless by creating new city-run “street nurse” positions alongside other mental health and addictions professionals to assist people who use substances.
Reduce systems gaps and deliver services better
Protect survivors of intimate partner violence and close gaps in supports by convening a region-wide Intimate Partner Violence task force to better track trends, identify gaps, and coordinate action.
Make it easier for residents to find the services they need by coordinating and communicating information about locally available social services.
Address service stability by brining partners together to convene a conversation about the future of community services in the face of dwindling provincial government funding.

Protect affordability by freezing the fees for current recreation programming for the duration of the four year council term.
Boost the local economy and create more reasons to bring people together by directing staff to identify opportunities to attract large scale sport, arts, and cultural experiences and events to the city.
Building meaningful conversations in the community by re-starting the City’s Reconciliation dialogues.
Support the local library and increase resident’s access to safe spaces and services by exploring increases to library funding and options to replace the current downtown Library building.
Increase access to affordable food by creating an urban food security program with grants, and act on the Urban Food Table’s recommendations.
Improve transit and keep local travel short and simple
Improve traffic flow in our city’s busiest areas by creating HOV lanes on Douglas Street without removing the number of vehicle lanes that currently exist.
Ensure sidewalks work for all ages and abilities by accelerating work to make sidewalks more accessible and safe.
Give neighbourhoods clear and timely updates while making it easier to move around the city by providing more notice to surrounding neighbours in advance of road work or closures, and require builders and construction companies to do the same.
Make transit more affordable by exploring free bus passes for seniors and people with disabilities.
Make our streets safer for pedestrians by installing more lights at crosswalks, and making longer pedestrian lights.
Responsibly manage the city budget while protecting services
Keep the tax rate low and create a balance between services and the city budget by requiring new services to be funded from existing budgets.
Increase access to primary care and encourage clinics to open in Victoria by providing property tax reductions and other incentives for family medicine clinics.
Support vibrancy and economic development and establishing rewards for using vacant buildings for temporary community activation and uses.
Increase transparency and communicate directly with residents by creating weekly council meeting updates.
Prioritize health and sanitation and get more washrooms in neighbourhoods by expediting the City’s washroom replacement plan.
Bring more public art into every day spaces by creating opportunities to support local artists with public art projects in city buildings and spaces.
